With a 3-nanometer, fully large nuclear structure, Qualcomm released the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Qualcomm officially launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii today (24th), using a NTD 3 nanometer design and bringing a comprehensive upgrade. The platform will be equipped with flagship devices of many OEM and smart mobile brands around the world, including Rong Yao, iQOO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, POCO, realme, Redmi, Red Magic, ROG, Samsung, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi and Zhongxing.

This time, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 uses a t-electric 3 nanometer (N3P) process, bringing a comprehensive upgrade, and is equipped with the third-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU architecture, which is 20% higher in single cores and 17% higher in multi-cores; the new Adreno GPU architecture uses sliced architecture, which is as high as 1.2GHz, which improves image-intensive games by 23% and reduces power consumption by 20%; the Hexagon NPU has improved performance by 37% and power consumption by 16% higher than the previous generation.

Among them, the Oryon CPU architecture continues to have 2+6 full-core CPU configurations, up to 4.6GHz for 2 high-performance cores, and up to 3.62GHz for 6 performance cores, providing smooth and fast computing experience in multiprocessing, content creation and game applications.

Qualcomm pointed out that it uses a self-designed Oryon CPU, which is equipped with hardware matrix acceleration, and can operate in conjunction with Qualcomm Hexagon NPU.

In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 supports LP-DDR5x memory with up to 5,300MHz frequency and provides up to 24GB memory capacity. Qualcomm noted that this time, Adreno High Performance Memory also introduced, which provides 18 MB of dedicated memory, which can save power and improve visual rendering performance.

Qualcomm said the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 further enhances the experience today’s users expect from mobile devices, including fast multi-processing and scratchless switching between applications, as well as longer game play time, with great performance and superior performance.

Snapdragon 8 series mobile platforms realize truly personalized proxy AI assistants, which can perform customized operations across applications according to user needs. Through continuous device-end learning and real-time perception, the multimodal AI model can deeply understand users, provide active suggestions and enhance prompting functions based on context, and user data is always retained on the device.

Qualcomm also pointed out that this year the Snapdragon 8 Elite is the world's first mobile platform to support Advanced Professional Video editing and decoder recording, allowing professional image production to be realized. Driven by breakthrough AI camera technology, creators can turn artistic landscapes into reality through studio-level image recording and extensive post-production control.

Qualified Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile End Devices Department of Qualcomm said, "Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 allows you to control the mobile experience and guide your power, allowing personalized AI assistants to see what you see, hear what you hear, and think in a synchronous way. This chip breaks through the boundaries of personal AI and allows users to experience the future of mobile technology immediately."
