Solskjaer: Before joining Manchester United, Sancho suffered an ear infection from diving on vacation, so he struggled at the beginning of the season

Solskjaer participated in a program hosted by Neville, during which he revealed the situation before and after Sancho joined Manchester United. The following is the content of the conversation.
Neville: Sancho, did you pursue him for one year or two? You are obviously very keen to bring him to the club.
Solskjaer: It’s Manchester United. He was the best option we had at the time.
Neville: In terms of the scouting report, what did you see in him? Obviously he has talent and he's playing really well for Dortmund. What was it about the club that made you think he would do well at Manchester United?
Solskjaer: We want to take the next step, not deviate from (the original style) but also add to it. Having players in the final third who can break down a team's defence, and Sancho gives us something different with his small passing, technique and link-up inside and outside the penalty area.
He was unlucky, because before he came, he went on vacation, like everyone does, and does all that diving and stuff, and he got an ear infection and was hospitalized. His first 10 days or so, before he could start working with us, he really struggled.
This matter didn’t spread much. So it's like I've never coached him. I never really got a chance to work with him because I moved on before he really came on fire again.
Sancho joined Manchester United from Dortmund for a fixed transfer fee of 85 million euros in the summer window of 2021. Four months later, on November 21, Manchester United announced that coach Solskjaer was dismissed.
