Rice's performance has been outstanding since joining Arsenal. Lampard gave affirmation to Rice in an interview.

Lampard said: "I think Rice has already locked up the main position with his extraordinary strength. He deserves it and is an all-round player."

"But it is indeed a problem to find a suitable No. 10 player, but I think Anderson has performed very well since joining and has brought us a new balance."
