British media: Manchester United and other teams are blocked from pursuing Bournemouth striker Semeno, and their players valuation exceeds 70 million pounds
According to British media i Paper, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham were blocked in their pursuit of Bournemouth striker Semeno, and the players' valuation has exceeded 70 million pounds this summer.
It is understood that Tottenham has shown its greatest interest and they hope to strengthen Frank's offensive choices. But Bournemouth is firm in its valuation and people are increasingly convinced that Semeno will stay at the club. Tottenham has been in touch with Bournemouth after its first inquiry last week, but the latter is calm about the current situation.
Newcastle once regarded Semeno as a potential replacement for Ilanga, but it is understood that Semeno has now been removed from the list. Currently, no team is willing to meet the asking price.
Semeno is 25 years old and has just signed a four-year contract. The point is that Bournemouth has no need to sell him, as they have already made huge profits from defenders Wyson and Kolkerz, who have moved to Real Madrid and Liverpool respectively.
The £40 million paid by Liverpool for Kolkerz is affecting other clubs in the Premier League that are targeting similar players. Semeno's value is also measured by Brentford's price for Mbemo and Manchester United's payment for Cunha to Wolves.
When Manchester United advances its pursuit of Mbemo, it will further promote the market. Negotiations about Mbemo are currently in progress. As previously disclosed, Brentford hopes that Manchester United match Cunha’s 63.5 million termination clause. Both sides are bargaining over possible surcharges after Manchester United agreed to pay a down payment of £55 million.
These huge transfer fees are setting the tone for the remaining transfer market this summer, and clubs such as Newcastle are waiting and looking, hoping that valuations can become more realistic. Given that Premier League clubs are clearly turning to signing players with top league experience, it is unclear whether this will happen.
Crystal Palace striker Eze's 68 million termination clause further proves that this is now regarded as a common asking price for attackers.
