BBC: Dyche is currently the only candidate for Forest’s new coach, and interest in Mancini has cooled
According to BBC reports, Sean Dyche is currently the only candidate for Nottingham Forest's new coach.
After Forest lost to Chelsea last Saturday, the club immediately fired Postkoglu. The team is currently ranked 18th in the Premier League standings. The BBC reports that Forest are in advanced talks to appoint Sean Dyche as head coach. There have been positive developments in Dyche's talks over the past 24 hours, with sources telling the BBC his chances of getting the job increased significantly over the weekend.
Mancini also held talks with Nottingham Forest officials. Fulham head coach Marco Silva was also appreciated, but he is still under contract. Signing him requires a high release fee, which has become an influencing factor. Whether Silva is prepared to leave Fulham in the middle of the season is also a question. Sources say that given the difficulty of appointing Silva, Dyche is currently the only candidate and interest in Mancini is understood to have cooled.
Ditch served as Burnley's head coach for nearly ten years from October 2012 to April 2022. His most recent coaching experience was at Everton, where he led the team in 75 league games and achieved a record of 21 wins, 31 losses and 23 draws. He was fired in January this year.
