At around 4:00 on March 21, when the police on duty at the Xiaoheijiang Border Inspection Station conducted a routine inspection of a vehicle from Lancang to Lincang, the driver of the vehicle was evasive when facing the police's inquiry. The police officer on duty opened the vehicle's spare tire mezzanine and found a kitten curled up in the spare tire mezzanine with an attacking posture. The pattern on his body was very unique, which was extremely similar to the appearance of a wild animal leopard cat, which aroused the police's suspicion. The police then contacted the Forest Police in Shuangjiang County. After the forest police identified the kitten as a national second-class protected animal, the leopard cat.

At present, the case has been handed over to the Forest Police of Shuangjiang County for further processing.

The police remind that leopard cats are national second-class protected animals and are protected by law and cannot be sold or kept privately in captivity.
