According to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, Sunderland is not interested in Leipzig attacker Oponda.

Keith Downie wrote on social media: "Despite the reports, Sunderland is not interested in Oponda. Sunderland is still looking for strikers in the transfer market, but Oponda is not their target."

"Leipzig is likely to sell Oponda's forward partner Cesco this summer, but Oponda will not go to Sunderland. Last night, Newcastle made a £70 million offer to try to bring in Cesco."
