He is about to recover from his injury! Jesus interview: This is the biggest injury in my life; I will try my best to catch up with the World Cup

Arsenal forward Jesus, who suffered a long-term injury, is nearing the end of his recovery period. The player accepted an exclusive interview with Arsenal's official website. Jesus has been sidelined since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Manchester United in the FA Cup in January.
How do you feel now? Are you close to returning?
Jesus: "Yeah, man, I feel great. My knee responded really well. So now I'm looking forward to getting back with the team as soon as possible and getting back to doing what I love. It's been too long.
"With a long injury like this, you break up the recovery period into smaller chunks of time. So now I'm at a stage where I need to restrain myself a little bit because I'm doing well in training off the field, but it's tricky because I can't be too eager to get across the finish line. When you can see the end, it's important not to push yourself too hard, stay grounded, and then when the time comes, I'll be ready. "
How have you stayed motivated during these difficult times over the past nine months?
Jesus: "Oh, my family. But first there is God. God gave me this challenge, and I believe that if God allowed me to suffer this injury, it was because the Lord knew I was strong enough to come back, accept the challenge, and face it.
"So first it was God, then it was my wife, my kids, my mom, my family, my friends, my brothers. They all gave me a lot of faith, and my wife helped me a lot every day."
What was your recovery process like? Have you returned to Brazil?
Jesus: "Yes, I went back a few times. The first time was a few weeks, and then I spent most of the summer there, but it was not a holiday! I trained every day, worked, but it was great to be home because we had another baby in the summer. We were in our hometown of São Paulo at the time, so it was really nice to spend that time with my family.
"Obviously, if you asked me if I wanted to get injured, I would say no, never. But like I said, I think this is all planned by God. This is something I believe in because I was at my best when I was injured. I was scoring goals, performing well, getting my fitness back, my confidence back, everything was going well, and then the injury happened. I didn't think that at the moment it happened and I was frustrated, but a few weeks later I realized what was going on and I had to use that time to enjoy spending time with my kids and be fully ready to return. "
Thinking back to when you were injured, you were in great shape and scored 6 goals in 4 starts. Then your emotions fell from one end to the other...
Jesus: "I have always believed in myself. I've had some tough moments since coming here, but I've also had great moments when I played a lot and was in good form. Even in games where I don't score, I make runs to open up space. But unfortunately I had some injuries that were out of my control.
"But this was the biggest injury of my life, and it happened at the best time of my life off the court. I mean I was well prepared, feeling relaxed, eating well, sleeping well, recovering well, and then it happened. So that's why I say we can't predict it."
Did you watch every game during the injury, or did you choose to stay away? What is your approach?
Jesus: "It's difficult. Like I said, it's too long, so you have different phases. In the beginning, like the first two or three months, I wasn't really close to the team. But obviously I watched the games. At first I didn't go there, but watched it at home, and then after a few months I came back to the training base and was around more. "My schedule is different from other players, but I see the players every day, so I stay involved. Most of the time they're traveling or training later or earlier, so I'm not always with them, but I'm always communicating with my teammates. Last season I went to the semi-finals in Paris to accompany them, and now I have returned to team meetings and other matters. Anything I can do to help while I'm injured, I want to do it. "
You said this was the biggest injury of your career. You're 28 now, do you think it's changed you?
Jesus: "Yes, 100%, in terms of my personal life and the way I look at things off the pitch. I'm at the best moment of my career. I took care of every aspect of my life and it felt great. I mean I'm doing better than I did when I was younger. But despite this, I still had this injury. So now I know it will never be enough.
"You need to take more care of yourself. You have to be smart about the whole season. This is what I think about now, I need to control the training because I am a player who always gives his best. If it is not controlled properly, something can go wrong."
So will your mentality be different when you return?
Jesus: "I think my mentality will be the same - I love winning. I am a winner and always will be. I go out there to win games and train hard. But obviously you need control."
There is still a lot to look forward to this season, whether it is Arsenal or representing Brazil in the 2026 World Cup. Have you considered the national team?
Jesus: "Obviously, as a player, I want to return to the team and then earn a call-up to the national team through performance. I have participated in two World Cups, so of course I want to participate in the third. But it will not be easy.
"We have a lot of good players, a good team, and there is not much time until the World Cup. I don’t have much time, but I believe in myself. Once I start playing again, I'll try to be a part of it. "
