Criticize Manchester United youth training! The Sun: La Jue’s remarks caused dissatisfaction among Manchester United youth training coaches and players’ parents

"The Sun" reported that Manchester United boss Ratcliffe publicly criticized the club's youth training in a podcast recently for "really declining" and said it had fallen behind opponents such as Manchester City and Liverpool. This comment caused dissatisfaction at the Carrington base.
It is understood that the Manchester United youth training coaching staff and parents of young players are "confused" by Ratcliffe's criticism and believe that it is inconsistent with the actual situation.
A parent revealed that at the parents’ evening meeting just a few weeks ago, the club shared the results of a survey showing that 80% of parents were satisfied with their children’s growth at Manchester United.
The parent said that Ratcliffe's comments were "unhelpful" and made children and parents feel "upset" and may even lead some families to consider switching to other clubs. Parents generally agreed that Ratcliffe "seemed to have his own agenda," while coaches felt "hurt" and "didn't understand what he was talking about."
In fact, during the nine-year tenure of former youth training director Nick Cox, 35 youth training players made their first-team debut, including Menu, Ganaccio, Rashford and others.
Between 2019 and 2024, Manchester United youth training players contributed 25% of the first-team playing time, second only to Bayern in the five major leagues. Last season, they also ranked second in the Premier League in terms of playing time given to young players. The club recently appointed Stephen Tope, who worked with director of football Wilcox at Manchester City, to take over as head of youth development.
