Absolutely impossible! Olier: I am a Parisian, I would rather not eat than join Marseille

Côte d'Ivoire right-back Olier refused to join Marseille, saying he would rather not eat than play for Marseille.

Côte d'Ivoire right-back Olier, 32, revealed in the Kampo podcast that although Marseille football director Benatia had contacted him, he refused to join Marseille several months ago.

When asked if he would play for Marseille in his career, Olier replied without hesitation: "It's impossible! They did ask me for an invitation, and when Benatia talked to me about it, I didn't continue to follow up because I told him clearly that I was not interested. I didn't even have a club at the time."

The Ivory Coast international has not found a new club since the end of June 2024. He said he "will rather not eat than sign Marseille" even without a club.

Olier received youth training in the Paris region and played 81 games for Paris Saint-Germain from 2014 to 2017. Olier: "This is my belief. I am a Parisian and can't allow myself to sign in Marseille. When you win the French national derby, you will say 'Come on Paris'. I can't do the opposite in the derby. What would that look like?"

Although I'm still looking for a new club, Olier has not given up on his hope of continuing his career. He will celebrate his 33rd birthday on December 24.
