Do you know? What are the preparations for dogs before sterilization?
If you finally decide to sterilize your dog after careful consideration, what preparations should you do?
1. The dog should be healthy before surgery. Before the dog's surgery, be sure to ensure that the dog is healthy. It is best to have vaccinated, and there should be no vomiting, diarrhea, fever, cough, loss of appetite, depression and other symptoms; there should be no chronic diseases such as liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, encephalopathy, heartworm, etc. If you really want to have surgery, you must tell the doctor in advance so that the doctor can weigh the pros and cons.
2. Confirm that the female dog is in a romance period. If a female dog is about to estrus or is in a state of estrus and blood drops, it should not be performed. The operation must be performed two months after the vaginal bleeding stops. Because the uterus of a female dog will become thicker and brittle, and the blood vessels will proliferate, increasing the risk of surgery. Sterilization itself is a physiologically optional operation, so the risk of surgery should be minimized. The surgery for male dogs is relatively simple and requires little to do so. It can be performed at any time.
3. Before the operation, you should fast for 8 to 12 hours and drink for 4 to 6 hours to avoid vomiting caused by surgical anesthesia and increasing the risk.
4. In case of a dog's condition after surgery, it can be hospitalized for observation 1 to 2 days after the operation, and prepare hospital supplies (food basins, water basins, food, bedding, etc.). In addition, transport tools should also be prepared, such as solid paper boxes, wooden boxes, wooden boards and corresponding bedding. Because the dog cannot walk on its own after waking up with general anesthesia, it is necessary to carry it manually. It is not recommended to hold it in hand at this time, because it may touch the knife edge and cause pain to the animal. At the same time, it is also possible to avoid the dog's consciousness after anesthesia and accidentally hurt the owner.
5. It is best to bathe the dog 2 to 3 days before the operation to keep it clean and reduce infection.
